About Us
Boundary Integrated Services Model
Vision and Philosophy
In October 2001, the Boundary Integrated Services (BISM)
partners, School District # 51,
Boundary Family and Individual Services
Society, the Ministry of Children
and Family Development and Public
Health Nursing began a journey that dramatically changed
our ways of interacting both within our organizations and
within our community. We dreamed of an education-based model
where as community partners we would collocate, integrate,
and deliver key services to Boundary Families, all the while
sharing our strengths and our challenges. We turned our dream
into a reality and created Boundary Family Centres which are
located at school sites throughout the Boundary area.
We have completed Phase One of integration of the early years
services and are excited to be entering Phase Two in 2007.
We are creating a community driven child, youth and family
serving system that works within an asset development approach
in which we value and encourage the growth of capacities,
within our citizens, our organizations and our community.
