About Us
Public Health Nurses provide services throughout the Boundary.
Child, Youth & Family Services Provided:
- Maternal - Pre-conception & Prenatal information
& referral; Child: home baby visits; well baby assessments
and childhood immunizations; breastfeeding classes and breastfeeding
centre (GF only); developmental screening; ongoing support
for parents; referrals to other community services.
- Communicable Disease Followup
- Youth Health Service - Birth control information
& referral; pregnancy testing and counseling; free emergency
contraceptive pills & condoms; counseling regarding
to sexual decision-making; information and support relating
to sexual orientation & gender issues; assessment &/or
treatment for sexually transmitted infections and HIV (GF
only).
- Other Services - nutrition information;
referral for eating disorders; quit smoking resources; health
education to groups; healthy schools connections.
Adult Services Provided:
All adult services are offered out of Boundary Hospital.
- Adult immunizations
- Lifestyle counseling/Harm Reduction Services
- All the services listed for Youth Health Services are
also provided for adults.
Public Health Dental Services:
We are the dental resource for individuals, families, groups
and professionals within our community.
