Volunteer

Make a difference in the life of a senior by volunteering with the
Better at Home program.

Supporting the non-medical needs of older adults in B.C.

Better at Home is a program that helps seniors with simple non-medical, day-to-day tasks so that they can continue to live independently in their own homes and remain connected to their communities.

Be connected with a senior based on your availability and interests.

Opportunities include friendly visiting, transportation and grocery shopping.

Please contact the program regardless of the amount of time that you are able to commit.  Even minimal availability will make a difference in the life of a senior.

Better at Home will:

  • Provide you with liability coverage while you are volunteering
  • Provide social opportunities with seniors and other volunteers
  • Encourage you to ask questions and let us know if you encounter any problems or challenges
  • Make opportunities available to you to attend workshops on topics pertinent to working with seniors
  • Welcome your input and ideas for making “Better at Home” better than ever!

Please contact program coordinator Rachel Warriner for more information.
